When I Found You

When I Found You - Catherine Ryan Hyde 4.5 Wanted to slap some of these characters, and that's always a sign of a well written book. Recommended.

P’tit Cadeau

P’tit Cadeau - Anel Viz Some writers approach their craft with a languorous depth of setting which strikes a balance with the characters and adds to their ability to capture the reader. This book does that, in spades.

Definitely would place this in the ‘Gay Contemporary Romance’ category and not MM.

Recommended: Hidden Gem

Love Begins in Winter: Five Stories

Love Begins in Winter: Five Stories - Simon Van Booy Wow, unexpectedly beautiful. HIGHLY recommended.

The Seventh Pleiade

The Seventh Pleiade - Andrew J. Peters Rich in lore with many themes that still have relevance for gay men and youth today.
Recommended for the gay fiction and lit crowd. MM, not so much.

The Bone Season

The Bone Season - Samantha Shannon Very different and original. Enjoyed it.

Reblogged from Lisa Henry:

Today I am over at Brandon Shire's blog, talking about m/m sci-fi, the weird inspirations behind Dark Space, and how the aliens will solve all our problems...or not.

See you there!

Blue Notes

Blue Notes - Shira Anthony Really enjoyed this, brought back many memories of Paris. :)
Squat - Alp Mortal Quirky and original writing style. I liked it.

Number9Dream

number9dream - David Mitchell You'll love it, or hate it. It's that kind of book. I loved it.

Bridge Water

Bridge Water - Allen Renfro Sexual tension and murder always make for an interesting read and this didn't disappoint. Expect there will be a sequel, or two.

Chasing Seth

Chasing Seth - J.R. Loveless 3.5 Didn't realize it was a shifter novel when I picked it up. Pulled me in, then suddenly I was bored with the story.

When You Were Pixels (Syntax #0.1)

When You Were Pixels (Syntax #0.1) - Julio-Alexi Genao Excellent. Sparse prose and right-on-point writing. Would love to see this developed into a full length book.

Downtime

Downtime - Tamara Allen At first, meh, then the characters drew me in. Always the sign of a good story-teller.

Swimming in the Monsoon Sea

Swimming in the Monsoon Sea - Shyam Selvadurai Really enjoyed this.

Call Me by Your Name: A Novel

Call Me by Your Name - André Aciman Excellent use of language and subtlety that require a deeper look at desire (and what we sometimes think it may be).
